After weeks of rain the sun shines on our good old fashioned small town celebration with food and fun for all. And after dinner the crowd enjoyed listening to various speakers share their thoughts and memories.

David Rockefeller speaks at Seal Harbor bicentennial

The Rockefeller family has been a big part of Seal Harbor’s history and have been very generous members of the community. David Rockefeller shared these thoughts with us. “I was first brought here as a baby, 94 years ago,” and he has been coming here ever since, he told the gathering . “And of all the places my family has scattered, this is the place with which they have become the most involved. It’s something that makes me very proud and rather sentimental.”

New Work in the galleries

Once again this year I have been fortunate to have been asked to show my work at Redfield Artisans Gallery in Northeast Harbor, Maine. This year Rita Redfield has done a fabulous job of adding more work andĀ  bringing together a variety of new artists some of whom formerly showed in galleries that burned down in last year’s fire. There are still plenty of galleries and shops open as Northeast Harbor rebuilds. So don’t pass it by on your trip to Acadia. There’s plenty to see in the galleries and great shops too.

Main Street Merchants have grouped together to make Main Street Northeast Harbor more festive. On Thursday evenings all summer long there will be musicians creating atmosphere and stores will be open late. Additionally many stores and galleries will be having openings, events, specials and discounts. We encourage you to stop by Main Street on Thursday evenings and join us for some fun.
